We got a snow day yesterday thanks to a winter squall and subzero wind chills.

Today's doodle was fun to figure out. I thought the joke was cute, but wasn't quite sure how to make pasta dance. This is what I came up with.

Have a Few Jokes

Looks like I missed a few jokes from last week. Again, I know. We didn't have school yesterday since it's the end of the marking period, so there isn't a Monday doodle.

The kiddos asked me why elephants are afraid of mice. I don't know. I'm sure science has a reason, but I've never looked it up.

The boy had a gymnastics competition on Saturday, so I felt Friday's joke was perfectly timed.

Today's joke took some explaining. The kiddos weren't prepared for a literal punchline.

No Excuses

I have so many doodles to share with you this morning! Apparently, I've fallen a bit behind in my daily posts.

The boy is currently obsessed with chicken. He thinks chicken nuggets is the most hilarious thing to say. I told him he owes me a quarter for every time he says it. That's right. We have a chicken nugget swear jar. He owed me over a dollar before he begged me not to charge him for saying it. I think my method was effective. I thought this joke would be perfect for his chicken antics. So many kiddos needed to have this one explained to them. I guess no one calls anyone a chicken anymore. The boy loved it though.

The boy needed an explanation for this one. He'd never heard of a catnap before. Here's hoping I find some jokes that go over a little better for next week.

Three Days Behind

Looks like I haven't posted a single doodle this week. I've been getting inspiration from popsicle sticks, and this week's jokes have gone over better than the New Year's jokes so far.

Today's joke and doodle have been my favorite so far. Those piggies are just the cutest!

Dab Dog

The boy came downstairs while I was drawing the doodle this morning. I asked him to pick what kind of dog he wanted me to draw from a selection of Google images. He, of course, picked the puppy who was dabbing.

These snacks are on fire

Today's joke helped me learn that there are more than a handful of kids who are unaware of what a fire cracker is. Jokes just aren't as funny when you have to explain them.

The boy got it though, and I guess that's what really matters. Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow.

New Year, New Jokes

Getting back into our normal routine is difficult. Two weeks is a long time to be out of both school and work. This morning was a bit rough.

The boy has requested New Year's jokes for the entirety of this week.
