I almost didn't send this joke with the boy to school. It certainly makes a teacher seem cruel. It was a great fit for the long weekend we have coming up though.

Rocks and Votes

At this point, it comes as a surprise to no one that I forgot to post yesterday's joke.

My cute little bear friend is registered to vote. I hope you are too!

The boy loves rocks and minerals, so I'm hoping today's joke will be right up his alley.

Daily Double!

Looks like doubles are going to be my thing this year since I can only remember to post every other day.

Friday's joke was more difficult to illustrate than I expected.

Books don't have the smooth organic lines that water does. It was hard to keep the wave shape when drawing all of those rectangles.

Today's joke has one of the funnest doodles I've drawn in a while.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel on daily blog posts, but I'll admit that I'm off to a terrible start. At least the jokes keep coming daily.

I thought I might have to explain yesterday's joke, but it was well received with zero explanation.

I had no idea today was talk like a pirate day, but my joke happens to be very on theme!

Two for Tuesday

I seem to post a lot of Tuesday doubles. Mondays are just hard. I lose track of details, like making these posts.

The boy actually bought lunch today because it's pancake day, but I forgot about it, and packed a lunch. He still read the joke though.

A.K.A. Backpack

Today's joke needed a bit of an explanation because this term isn't used much anymore.

Kids were like 'What's a knapsack?' Once I explained it was like a backpack, they understood. I should have known no one calls it that anymore.

Tricky

Figuring out a way to illustrate today's joke took me a little bit.

An echo is not the easiest thing to draw. Hoping I got the point across with this little doodle!

Straight A's

If you look closely, you can see I didn't use a ruler on today's joke!

I've got a not so straight A, but it still gets the job done :)

Already missed one!

I thought I posted yesterday's joke, but it looks like I missed it!

The boy's favorite animal is a giraffe, so I try to work in every giraffe joke I can :)

Today's joke is grammatically incorrect, but fun to tell.

You can barely see the fours, but that lion is gobbling them up!

Bad Timing

I didn't realize this joke was poorly timed until I went to post this. I wrote all the jokes down a few weeks ago to be more prepared once school started. I just read the question and drew a sheep this morning. Just read the punchline, and realized this is not in the best taste.

If I had been paying more attention, I would have chosen a different joke to send today. That's what I get for packing a lunch first thing in the morning.

Divide and Conquer

Now that the boy is getting older, I can sneak in jokes that he wouldn't have understood a few years ago, like this one.

It's much funnier when you actually know what division is.

Hello Third Grade!

Welcome back to ye olde blog. Today marks the boy's first day of third grade. We all know what that means: more jokes!

My giraffe looks a little angry. It wasn't intentional, but given the boy's feelings on the end of summer vacation, the expression fits. Someone isn't ready to go back to school. Fingers crossed that he has a great day and looks happier than this giraffe by the time the school day is over.
