I dug the Space joke book out of the library bag. The promised spaciness commences today (just one day late!)

Space was a Lie

I know I said there would be an influx of space jokes. Here's the thing. Mornings come early, and we cleaned the house yesterday, so I put the space book away. I had this much more accessible joke, so went with it. I promise it's still a good one, it just has nothing to do with space.\

More space jokes tomorrow. Maybe.

Light beverages

We went to the library yesterday. The boy found a joke book filled with outer space jokes. It's a gem. Be prepared for an influx of jokes that are out of this world.

He read me this joke yesterday, and I told him I was going to send it in his lunch today. He requested that I draw the illustration that is in the book. I complied. So credit to the authors Sean Connolly and Kay Barnham for the great jokes and the fun illustration used for reference.

Rock a bye baby

The boy was reading a National Geographic book about rocks and minerals this morning. He read me this gem, and I decided it would be fun to send it for lunch today.

My pebble just looks like a bald baby. Maybe I should have colored it gray.

I'm Yelling Timber

The boy and I just finished a book called Wishtree by Katherine Applegate. The main character is a tree that tells terrible jokes. The boy really enjoyed this one, so I thought I would draw it as today's doodle. It's one of the only doodles I haven't used a reference picture for.

Side note: I love Applegate's books. This is the third I've read and they never disappoint.

Lucky Day

It's too early for me to say if this will prove to be true, but I'm hopeful. It really just matches today's joke.

It could be argued this is more of a riddle than a joke, but I used it anyway :)

I'm hoping the boy will be able to read all of the big words in today's joke. It's a good one though.
