Fix It Right Up

We had to have a refresher this morning on zoo trips so I could make sure the boy would get today's joke.

The joke book used chimps, but as chimps are not technically monkeys, I couldn't do that. I used one of my favorite little mammals instead.

New Heights

The rain continues, with no dry day in our forecast until next Tuesday. Not tomorrow. Eight more days. I'll try to keep spirits up with some jokes about animals, although today's borders on a riddle.

I'm not certain, that even with stilts, a mouse could reach this height.

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

I've received a request to do some animal jokes, and came upon this gem in the boy's book this morning. Thought it would be perfect. Didn't realize this happens to be the title of a kid's book and an interesting child's toy that I never knew existed.

No Use Crying

I've once again turned to the boy's Ginormous Joke Book for inspiration. I feel like it could be argued that today's joke is more of a riddle.

All Ears

After I put today's doodle in the boy's backpack, I wondered whether an explanation will be needed or not. We eat a lot of corn on the cob here, as it's my favorite, so I'm fairly confident he'll remember they're called ears of corn. I'll ask him after school today to see if he gets this one.

Almost Autumn

It's still raining here. Not leftover hurricane rain, I think. Just regular rain.

Even so, I decided not to do a weather joke today. Our trees are halfway bare already. The leaves are falling before they even change color. It might not be September 21 yet, but nature is ready for fall.

Bring on the sweaters and hot tea. I'm ready to kiss summer goodbye!

Tut, tut. Looks like rain.

Florence is here. The Carolinas are flooding. Here, we've just got cloudy skies. The threat of more rain.

I doubt we'll see any bees or wasps given our soggy condition, but maybe they'll surprise us. Hope everyone stays safe and dry!
