Where Did the Last Three Weeks Go?

Wow. I let three weeks fly by without posting a single doodle.

The first week of May was a weird one for us as we made a spontaneous trip to Myrtle Beach. As a result, the boy only got two jokes that week.

Monday May 3:

Tuesday May 4:

Happy to say we didn't see a single shark while we were at the beach. Maybe it's because it wasn't Finland...

Monday May 10:

Tuesday May 11:

We had Thursday off for a teacher workday, so Friday May 14:

Monday, May 17, the boy returned to school in person. He was not excited, but it made packing him a lunch feel more normal.

Tuesday May 18:

Thursday May 20:

I thought this joke was super cute :)

Friday May 21:

And we're all caught up. Only a few more weeks of school left!

The Last of April

How is this both the longest year in history yet also flying by? Can't believe it's already May.

Thursday April 29:

I loved this doodle. That catfish looks like it's having the best time :)

Friday April 30:

I feel like this doodle was more detailed than most. Hard to get that 'drive-in' vibe without the vintage sign, I think.

More Doodles!

Monday April 19: One of my favorite punny jokes!

Tuesday April 20:

The boy is very into Harry Potter, so he loved this one. I did have to explain what a marmoset is though.

Thursday April 22:

I love this one. I don't know why, but it makes me smile every time.

Friday April 23:

I tried so hard to make the mammoth part of this creature not look creepy. Still don't feel like I was one hundred percent successful.

Last Week's Doodles

We only had three days of school last week since it's the end of our marking period.

Monday April 12:

The fifth graders who know the boy gets jokes have returned to the building. This one stumped them.

Tuesday April 13:

This one required a bit of an explanation. Kids these days don't call zippers flies anymore.

Just One

This week was strange. Monday off for the holiday. Asynchronous Tuesday and Wednesday. Off for my dad's funeral on Friday. So, we ended up with just the one joke.

I know I did a version of this joke recently, but I couldn't resist drawing a cute little kiwi.

Back on Track

Now that I've returned to the school building, and the boy still learns from home, I only pack him a lunch four days a week. Wednesdays are asynchronous days. No students come to the building, so I get to work from home. As a result, the boy gets a hot, fresh lunch instead of a packed one, so our weeks are one joke short.

Tuesday March 23:

Thursday March 25:

Friday March 26:

The boy is so excited that it's Spring Break, even though we aren't going anywhere. I'm looking forward to the break too. Here's hoping I actually get the chance to sleep in.

Playing Catch Up

Whew. My world has completely changed since February 12. My dad died. Mom caught Covid and had to be hospitalized. Our schedule was all out of whack, and as a result, our jokes are all over the place. Let me give you a quick sum up.

Monday, March 1:

Tuesday March 2:

Thursday March 4:

Friday March 19:

Now that my mom is home and seems to be on the mend, and I'm back to work outside of my house, I think we might get more regular blog posts again.
