Three for One

Looks like I've fallen behind today. I've got three new doodles for you.

The first joke was nearly impossible for anyone to get that hadn't seen the picture. This type of pun is difficult to explain when you can't see the word spelled out.

Until I sent this joke to school, I was unaware that most children don't know their shoes have tongues. This was another one that warranted a lot of explanation. Big joke book is striking out this week.

There's a chance I'll have some explaining to do with today's joke as well. I'm unsure if the kiddos will know what smoke signals are.

I'm going to flip through the book until I find one that's easier for tomorrow. These kids deserve a good joke.

Clocks and Cats

Forgot to post Tuesday's joke. It's another from the boy's gigantic joke book.

The boy won a pizza and popsicle lunch with his teacher in a school raffle. He doesn't eat pizza, so I still packed him a lunch. He said he shared the joke with everybody.

He had a joke on his popsicle stick which he told me last night over dinner. I thought it would make a great doodle. He agreed we should use the popsicle stick joke for today.

So Picky

After two weeks of knock, knock jokes, I decided it was time to move on. The kiddos love the knocks, but they wear on me after a while.

Today's joke was interesting to illustrate. I think the doodle borders on creepy. Hopefully the boy doesn't see it that way.

Rocketman

We're rounding out this week with another knock, knock joke. The boy's joke book is filled with them. I might move past this chapter for next week though, because I'm ready to take a break from them for a while.

We're looking forward to a soggy, stormy weekend. Hope some of you are in for better weather!

Another Double

The boy was sick on Tuesday, so there's no doodle since he stayed home from school. Yesterday he was a bit better, so I sent him with another knock, knock joke. He especially liked this one because the punch line rhymes.

Today's joke doesn't have any rhyme, but I still think he's going to like it.

I Owe You Some Jokes

I've neglected you. I was sick last week, even took Thursday off from doodling. As a result, it looks like I've posted nothing for almost a week.

This fierce friend was Wednesday's joke. The boy got it because he loves wild weather. A lot of the other kids didn't know what a typhoon was, so they didn't get the joke or the doodle.

Friday was our neighbor's birthday. She was so excited about it that she showed up at our house at 7:45. A.M. More than an hour earlier than usual for our walk to school. I made Friday's joke all about her. I was rewarded with a hug at lunch time.

The boy chose the animal for today's doodle and watched me draw a bit of it. I'm unsure if he read the joke as well. He knows it's another knock, knock joke because I told him. This chapter in the joke book is long. I think we have enough to do another whole week of knock, knocks.

I'm finally feeling mostly like myself again. Hopefully the jokes will be a bit more consistent this week.

Did Someone Say Donut?

I doubt the boy is an exception when it comes to small humans, but he LOVES donuts. Since I work at school during lunch, I am frequently birthday donuts. Kids bring them to share with their class on their special day, and they usually give me one too. I bring them home for the boy. He would eat an entire half dozen at a time if I let him, I think.

That's why I thought he would appreciate this knock, knock joke. Every time we pass a Dunkin Donuts, he wants to stop. His love for the fried dough is strong.
