Back on Track

Now that I've returned to the school building, and the boy still learns from home, I only pack him a lunch four days a week. Wednesdays are asynchronous days. No students come to the building, so I get to work from home. As a result, the boy gets a hot, fresh lunch instead of a packed one, so our weeks are one joke short.

Friday March 26:

The boy is so excited that it's Spring Break, even though we aren't going anywhere. I'm looking forward to the break too. Here's hoping I actually get the chance to sleep in.

Playing Catch Up

Whew. My world has completely changed since February 12. My dad died. Mom caught Covid and had to be hospitalized. Our schedule was all out of whack, and as a result, our jokes are all over the place. Let me give you a quick sum up.

Now that my mom is home and seems to be on the mend, and I'm back to work outside of my house, I think we might get more regular blog posts again.

Trying to Keep Things Normal

This blog is about light-hearted fun and terrible puns, but it has to take a serious turn for a moment. My dad has been in the hospital since the fourth of February. They found a lot of cancer. One of the tumors is in his brain. He isn't going to get better. I've talked about it with the boy, and he understands. In an effort to keep our day to day as normal as possible during this time, the jokes will continue. I can't guarantee the posting of them will remain regular, but I plan to try.

 Day 98: Monday February 8

The boy forgot to read his joke today and I was so sad. I loved my little hamster.

Day 99: Tuesday February 9

My prickly pear looks a bit like a cookie but at least there's a cute hedgie nibbling on it.

Day 100: Wednesday February 10

Day 101: Thursday February 11

Today is a teacher workday, so the boy gets the day off from school. That means no joke for today. No school on Monday either due to President's Day, so we'll be down a joke next week too.

I Miss Snow Days

We should have started this week off with snow days, but thanks to virtual learning, we had class while the snow came down. The boy took many wellness breaks to get out there and play.

Day 93: Monday February 1

Day 94: Tuesday February 2

Day 95: Wednesday February 3...was a day late on this one. Absolute missed Groundhog Day joke opportunity.

Day 96: Thursday February 4

Day 97: Friday February 5

Love most of the doodles for this week. Monday's was a little lame, but I think the rest of the week's pics are adorable.

Another Week of Jokes

We had another four day week since it was the end of our marking period. That means we're a joke short.

Day 89: Monday January 25:

The boy really liked this one. I think it's just because he thinks butts are so funny.

Day 90: Tuesday January 26:

Day 91: Wednesday January 27:

Proud of the boy because he asked me what a gnu was, but pronounced the word correctly!

Day 92: Thursday January 28:

So long, Marking Period 2. We're officially halfway through fourth grade. How is it possible for a year to go by so slowly and quickly at the same time?

Jokes for Days

At some point, I fell so far behind, that I decided to wait until the end of the week and post all the jokes. So, here we are, on the cusp of a three day weekend, and I've got a handful of jokes for you.

Day 79, Friday January 8:

My emu looks very much like a furry duck.

Day 80: Monday January 11

Day 81:

Day 82:

Day 83:

The boy has never seen the Little Mermaid. I wasn't sure he would recognize this character, but he did. Still not entirely sure how he knows, but he knew Ariel's name as well.

Day 84, today:

The boy loved this one. Hope we were able to bring some smiles to you as well!
