Final Two Jokes of the Year!

What a weird year it's been. From fully virtual a strange hybrid of virtual and in person. Looking forward to in person summer school in a few weeks. Ready to work on getting adjusted to a five day schedule again. No more Wednesdays at home.

Thanks for being here for another year of puns and doodles :)

Last Full Week of Jokes

Can't say I'm sad to see this school year go. What a strange journey fourth grade has been for us. The boy still has class on Monday and Tuesday, but last week was their last full week of school.

Monday June 7

Tuesday June 8: I cam home to find the boy's lunch completely untouched! I asked him what he ate for lunch and he couldn't remember. My guess? Popsicles and granola bars. So this little gem wasn't actually read until Thursday. When he remembered to eat his lunch.

Thursday June 10

He got 2 jokes since Tuesday's was still in his lunchbox. What am I going to do with this kid?

Friday June 11

Two more jokes left for the year!

Another Round

We got more bad news over the Memorial Day weekend. My mother-in-law passed away suddenly. She was always supportive of all of my creative endeavors, including this blog, and I'm going to miss her voice cheering me on.

The boy and I went to work and school, so I did give him jokes, to keep things feeling normal. 2021 is not behaving itself, and I think it's time to put it in time out.

Tuesday, June 1

Thursday, June 3

The boy and I had a car picnic for lunch since he's at school in person this week. So I got to see him read the joke for the first time in ages. He loved this one!

Where Did the Last Three Weeks Go?

Wow. I let three weeks fly by without posting a single doodle.

The first week of May was a weird one for us as we made a spontaneous trip to Myrtle Beach. As a result, the boy only got two jokes that week.

Monday May 3:

Tuesday May 4:

Happy to say we didn't see a single shark while we were at the beach. Maybe it's because it wasn't Finland...

Monday May 10:

Tuesday May 11:

We had Thursday off for a teacher workday, so Friday May 14:

Monday, May 17, the boy returned to school in person. He was not excited, but it made packing him a lunch feel more normal.

Tuesday May 18:

Thursday May 20:

I thought this joke was super cute :)

Friday May 21:

And we're all caught up. Only a few more weeks of school left!

The Last of April

How is this both the longest year in history yet also flying by? Can't believe it's already May.

Monday April 26:

Tuesday April 27:

Thursday April 29:

I loved this doodle. That catfish looks like it's having the best time :)

Friday April 30:

I feel like this doodle was more detailed than most. Hard to get that 'drive-in' vibe without the vintage sign, I think.

More Doodles!

Monday April 19: One of my favorite punny jokes!

Tuesday April 20:

The boy is very into Harry Potter, so he loved this one. I did have to explain what a marmoset is though.

Thursday April 22:

I love this one. I don't know why, but it makes me smile every time.

Friday April 23:

I tried so hard to make the mammoth part of this creature not look creepy. Still don't feel like I was one hundred percent successful.
