Florence is nearly here, though not nearly as strong as she once was. Hopefully the storm weakens more instead of regaining strength. Still looks like we'll avoid any serious action up here west of D.C. We've had plenty enough rain without Florence's help.
Depending on how long Florence lingers, this may be the last hurricane joke. I might toss another in tomorrow. I'll leave it to the boy to decide.

Impending storm
The boy liked the hurricane joke so much yesterday, that he asked for a hurricane joke for every day until Florence hits. As if I wasn't going to do that already!
We're still not supposed to see a direct hit, by any means, but we are under watch for inland flooding since it's already been raining here for a week. We're thinking of our loved ones much closer to where Florence will make landfall (we love you Aunt Kim and Uncle Larry!). If you're close to the mid-Atlantic coast, stay safe!

Too soon?
Unless you're living under a rock, you've heard about the hurricane barreling toward the east coast of the U.S. Multiple states have declared states of emergency. Mandatory evacuations for the Carolinas. The weather folks all claim it's going to be a doozy.
The boy loves weather. It terrifies him, but fascinates him at the same time. So this is the perfect opportunity for some weather jokes, right?
I expect to keep with the hurricane jokes until Flo decides to make landfall. For all of you more directly in her path: stay safe!

Hey, pal!
At our school, both the vice principal and principal know every student's name by the second week of school. Every. Single. One. It's amazing. And it shows the kids they care. It makes me feel like there's a bot of truth to today's joke.
Our principal looks nothing like Mr. Krupp. But this principal will be immediately recognizable for the boy, and I wouldn't do Dr. Williams justice.

Over His Head
The boy's favorite animal has changed from elephants to giraffes. I'm hoping it will make him appreciate this joke even more.
I feel like I should have colored the backpack in because it looks more like a weird cape thing.
Sidebar: The boy understood and liked yesterday's pi joke :)

Mmmm....pie
I had to pass over this joke last year because the boy didn't know what pi was. We've discussed it since then. We'll see if he gets it this year.

Time to Dust off the old Blog
And so it begins. The first day of school. The boy has once again asked me to include a joke with his lunch. I hope you're all ready for a (hopefully) daily dose of terrible puns and dad jokes. For those of you who are new here, Hello!, and feel free to check out the archive of terrible jokes.
I try to keep the jokes school-themed for this first week back to school. I don't know if the boy has ever noticed.
I hope all of your school years are off to a great start!
