Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

The boy picked out Spongebob yogurt at the store yesterday, and it reminded me that we have a Spongebob joke book. The boy earned it last year or the year before through the summer reading program at our library. He was too young to get most of the jokes at the time, but he's totally ready for them now. I mined that gem for this week's jokes, and might use it next week too. It's filled with jokes I think the boy is going to like.

Here's today's welcome back after a four day weekend doodle.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Gearing up for a long weekend

The boy doesn't have school tomorrow in preparation for Memorial Day on Monday. That means we have a four day weekend. I'd love to say we have a grand adventure planned, but we don't. I took the day off from work to spend with him tomorrow. He doesn't know it yet. I plan to surprise him. It's going to be so nice to spend the entire day with him instead of at the office.

You would think today's doodle would have something to do with the upcoming holiday or time away from school, but it absolutely doesn't. I still think it's cute though.

Have a safe weekend. See you on Tuesday!

Nautical nonsense

I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes the first time I read this joke. It's lame and ridiculous, and I think the boy is going to love it.

My first rendition of this fsh was modeled after the fish in Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat. I never would have guessed that, without an eye, that guy looks terrifying. I had to scrap that one and find a jollier fish. At least this one just looks like it's sleeping instead of a zombie fish.

Happy hump day!

Unseasonably funny

One might consider this joke about five months too late. I like to think that it's actually seven months early. I didn't use this joke during the holidays, and I think the boy will love it. I suppose I could have waited until December, but I'm terrible at waiting.

Have a holly jolly Tuesday!

Buzz, buzz

Lately, the boy has been telling stories and making up songs about bees. In all of them, the bees find honey, and eat it. Then, they go out to find some more. Naturally, when I came across this joke, I had to put it in his lunch this week.

Hope you all had a sweet Monday.

This quacks me up

Today's doodle also had two incarnations. It's first life was so dreadful, I had to throw it away. I gave it a second attempt, and it came out much better, albeit still not a masterpiece by any stretch.

Happy Friday everyone!

One doodle, two versions

So, my husband may or may not have used the doodle I drew for today as a napkin and may or may not have thrown it away before it had a chance to go in the boy's lunch. As a result, we may or may not have two versions of the same doodle. (I had managed to get a pic of the first one before it made its way to the trash can.)

The lost version.

The lunch version.

Same joke, same mermaid, slightly smaller. Hopefully the new maid makes it all the way until lunch. Happy Thursday!

Sticky

This is another one of my personal favorites because it's so ridiculous. If I've doodled it already, I apologize. It just goes to show how much I think the boy will enjoy this one.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Shake your groove thing!

Today's doodle is probably my favorite popsicle stick joke of all time. It would have been the first one I drew, if not for logisitics. Determining a way to illustrate it was tricky.

A dancing tissue is not an easy thing to draw. It looks like a ghost, but I'm okay with that. Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Fancy Fish

For some reason, whenever I want to draw an educated animal, a top hat and monocle are involved. I know neither of these things actually provides an intelligence bonus, but it sure makes them look dapper.

Happy Monday!

Classic!

Hooray for remembering to post a doodle on Friday!! I feel like it's been weeks since this happened. Maybe the trick is writing the blog first thing in the morning instead of waiting until after school.

Today's doodle is a classic that I've previously avoided due to my inability to draw cars. Think back on the tired joke. You'll see what I mean. I finally decided to give this one a go though, and it came out better than I expected.

Happy Friday everyone!

I don't feel so well, Donald

No, not that Donald. I'm talking about Donald Duck. He's the star of today's napkin doodle.

Hope you're all feeling great today and have a wonderful Thursday!

Riddle me this

So, today's doodle may or may not be more of a riddle than a joke. Okay, it's totally a riddle. However, I knew the boy would still think it was funny.

For those of you familiar with South Park, let me just say that it is very difficult to draw a cartoon towel without making it look like Towelie. I did my best.

So forgetful this week!

I forgot to put today's doodle in the boy's lunch box this morning! I realized it once I got to work. I was just going to put it in his lunch tomorrow, but he insisted he still get to see it today. So, today's doodle was given with dinner instead of lunch.

Those poor, terrified balloons. I hope you're having a better day than they are!

Sundaes!

Surprise, surprise, I forgot to post on Friday.

We went to my mom's house on Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day. The boy got to make his first banana split. It was a masterpiece. My friend Corinne posted this gem of a joke last week, and I felt like it was perfect after our weekend ice cream adventure.

Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Taking a Sick Day

Or took a sick day rather. I was feeling pretty crummy yesterday and tucked in super early. As a result, the doodle will get tacked on to today's post.

My mother-in-law brought me some tulips when she came to visit this past weekend, and it reminded me of this lovely little joke.

While the boy really liked the joke, the pun totally escaped him. Even after I pointed to his lips.

I think today's joke went over a little better.

I've been drawing a lot of sleepy jokes lately. I think my subconscious is trying to tell me to go to bed!

Such a chore

We've been cleaning, and while the house looks great, it's extremely difficult to get a four year old to put things away. It's like every toy that has been cast to the floor is rediscovered again as we clean, and the process takes roughly 5 million years. I feel like I could sleep for days now that we're finished. I can absolutely relate to today's doodle.

I've overswept too, and I'm ready to catch some z's like that little guy.

Stormy weather

As I type this, my windows are nearly rattling with the thunder that is booming outside my window. It has been a near constant lightning show out there for more than an hour. Seems absolutely fitting for today's doodle. (A shout out to Corinne for today's joke!)

This one was a big hit because, when you're four, anything to do with underwear is hilarious. Stay dry folks!
